HRD101 - Getting Started with Raspberry Pi

If you have always been intrigued by the Raspberry Pi, this is your best chance to get your hands dirty and discover the cool projects you could do with this US$40
computer.

Among the various topics you will learn, you will also learn how to:
1. Build a surveillance system using a Webcam
2. Build a video streaming server
3. Build a Web server using Apache, PHP,  and MySQL
4. Build a RSS News Feed Reader using an external LCD screen

Additional topics added to the Raspberry Pi Course on 12 Sep 2013 (Thur)

Next week's Raspberry Pi course is going to be super fun as I have just finished working on the course materials. Among the key topics that I have indicated in the outline, like:

  • Getting Started with Raspberry Pi
  • Learning Python

  • Interfacing with a 16x2 LCD display using the Pi Cobbler Kit
  • Streaming video using a USB webcam
  • How to setup a Web server on the Raspberry Pi
  • How to remote login to the Raspberry Pi
  • How to interface with the PiFace board to connect to external devices
